The Problem: As the population increases so does the volume of wastewater. Few treatment systems throughout the world were designed to effectively treat the volume of wastewater they are now being required to treat out of necessity.

THE TOWNSHIP OF WOODBRIDGE IN NEW JERSEY

Early in this decade the Township of Woodbridge in New Jersey decided to

food preparation facilities and meat processing facilities, to maintain
their sewerage works with the treatment of microorganisms (Ordinance 28-1.6
through 28-1.12).

In a May 5, 2003 letter by the Superintendant of the Township of Woodbridge
Water Works Department to a peer in Santa Fe, NM, the writer indicated,
within 1 1/2 years after the ordinance was put into effect, that costs had
been cut in half and "our costs continue to decrease monthly".

The Township of Woodbridge has earned and deserves congratulations from us
all for taking this environmentally friendly step forward, and they have
also earned and deserve "thanks" from the taxpayers living within their
jurisdiction.
